Jabber calls are relatively easy to find. Try the simplest way first: put
device_type="jabberdesktop" into your search filters. If you want both at once, try
(device_type="jabberdesktop" OR device_type="softphone")
device_type is an amalgamation the app provides of all the
device_type values on a particular leg, so in searches in both
dest_device_type. You could look for either of those (like
orig_device_type="jabberdesktop") if you only wanted ones where the originating device was a jabberdesktop.
From here you can click on rows and dig into details, or follow along below to start generating reports.
ADDITION: Did you know we already have a way to do this? You should check out the *easy way to report on jabber calls* first!
From where you are in Browse Calls, click »graph calls over time in the upper right of the data/calls area.
Your search filters and numbers, or other parameters, will follow you over to General Report and by default it’ll start showing you a distinct count of calls over time of all calls that matched your criteria (in this case, jabber and possibly softephone calls).
For the below screenshot, I changed a few options:
Maybe a column chart would have been better for this data, but I’m sure it gives you the idea. Feel free to change it to column with the “Chart Type” dropdown.
One place to find more information is to search for fields in our field gallery!
Another great place is the following link for the Cisco documentation for CDR data.
Be sure to click on each of the menu items on the left – they each have information in them that’s useful!
