Sideview is a small, 100% remote B2B software company founded in 2010, specializing in software solutions for troubleshooting, analytics, and reporting around Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), also known as CallManager. Our software, built upon Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud, is unique in the market and supports a wide range of customers, from small businesses to large enterprises. Although Sideview is based in California, this is a fully remote position. 

Who Are Our Customers?

Sideview serves a diverse customer base ranging from small businesses with fewer than 100 employees up to large, household-name companies and government agencies that have 50,000 to 150,000+ phones. Our customers often have complex needs and varying levels of user engagement.

Typical customer engagement involves 1‑hour Webex sessions, where we provide hands-on Q&A and demonstrate how to use the software effectively, including building charts and reports, conducting searches, and customizing software features as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Regular check-ins with ~125 customers to ensure satisfaction and renew annual term licensing.
  • Customer-focused improvement: Engage directly with customers to understand their needs and challenges, using these interactions as opportunities to discover enhancements for the product and documentation. This is not a traditional support role — it’s about being a proactive problem solver who can use customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Sales Support: Assist new customers with trial versions (approximately 5 – 10 at any given time) and support existing customers (~125) with upgrades and integrations.
  • CUCM Subject Matter Expertise: Leverage prior experience as a CUCM admin or Solutions Engineer within the Cisco telephony space.
  • Splunk-Related Tasks: While experience with Splunk is a plus, it is not mandatory.
  • Growth Opportunities: Potential to recruit and manage new employees as the company grows.

Ideal Candidate background 

We are looking for candidates with a mix of the following experiences. Meeting 2 of these 4 criteria is good, 3 of 4 is great, and 4 of 4 is ideal but rare:

1. 3+ years of experience in Account Management or as a Solutions Engineer.
2. Experience as an Admin or Solutions Engineer in the Cisco Collaboration space
3. Strong familiarity with Splunk.
4. Experience in scaling a small company.
