Usage

See details about a recent call.

You just heard about a failed call or a new problem and you need to find the call in question and view its details.  This might be to corroborate something you were just told about that call, or to see if you can find new information about it.

  • From the main menu across the top, select Browse then select Calls.
  • If you see the call listed there, simply click anywhere on the row involved to be taken to a more detailed listing of the call.
  • If you do not see the call listed there, see the next section on how to filter by a certain extension or phone number.

After the list of calls comes up, click on the call you want to review.

NOTE: If the call you are looking for is old enough to not be on screen, you can use the next >> link to scroll back through older calls.

Find calls to or from a particular number

You want to see all calls in or out of a particular extension, to get a quick sense of what’s been going on.  Quickly check a few other fields about these calls,  quickly spot-check the calls from a few hours ago or from yesterday.

  • From the main menu across the top, select Browse then select Calls.
  • In the field number/ext, type the phone number or extension you are searching for.
  • <optional> Change the drop down for time to an appropriate time period.

To quickly create a report for this same information

You can jump straight into a General Report for the displayed calls by clicking the link on the far right (under the button for Edit Fields) that says » graph calls over time.

You can return to the Browse Calls page again by clicking » see calls which will show up in that same position on the page.  An example of doing this is in this part of the Core UI Overview video.

To share this information

Save a report easily by clicking the Save button on the right and selecting Save Report… from the menu.  A short wizard will open asking you for a name and to whom you would like it shared to.  Watch the this section of the Core UI Overview video to see it in action.

See or Report on call activity by individuals and teams

You want to be able to pick a time range and one or more departments or groups and see an overview of call activity for all the individuals in that group or in those groups.   Total inbound/outbound/internal call duration and inbound/outbound/internal call counts.

  • From the main menu across the top, select Browse then select Extensions.
  • Click in the group field and check/uncheck groups as desired.
  • <optional> Add a name into the name field.  Wildcards are supported, like brian* to find all names starting with “brian”
  • <optional> Add a phone number into the number field.  This follows the multiple numbers and hyphenated ranges as above.
  • <optional> Change the drop down for time to an appropriate time period.

 Review 911 calls

You need to quickly and easily view details about your recent 911 calls.  What sites are they occurring from?

  • From the main menu across the top, select Browse then select 911 Calls.

Send an Alert for 911 calls

You need to send people alerts via email when a 911 call is being made.

  • From the main menu across the top, select Browse then select 911 Calls.
  • On the right, select the option to Enable or disable in “Settings > Searches, Reports & Alerts > 911_Calls.
  • This opens to the search in edit mode.  Click Cancel.
  • In the underlying Searches, Reports, and Alerts screen, click Edit next to the search 911_Calls.
  • Select Edit Schedule from the drop down.
  • In the Edit Schedule screen, click Schedule Report.
  • Leave the options at their defaults and click Next.
  • In the next page, you should see Send Email is already enabled.
  • Paste in the email address of the recipient.  If there is more than one, separate them with commas.
  • Set other options as necessary.
  • Also be sure to read the special notes along the right side!
  • click Save.
