In order for phone number locations (country, etc…) to be properly parsed, the clusters lookup needs to be populated and the locale set for each cluster.
All Installs – Populate the Clusters lookup.
In the Cisco CDR Reporting and Analytics app:
- Click Setup, then Define Clusters
- Confirm both the number and name of the cluster or clusters.
- Click the button in the middle – Push to CSV
This step should also be done after you add any additional clusters in to the system. Nothing should break if you forget, but you’ll find your clusters drop-down won’t contain all clusters and non-US clusters may not interpret phone numbers correctly.
All installs – Set cluster locale (and possibly some optional information too)
If you haven’t yet pushed the clusters to the clusters lookup (previous section up above), go do this first then come right back here.
- On the same page as the above, you’ll see a tab Edit/Delete Clusters. Click that.
- For each cluster;
- Change the Locale to the appropriate value (two letter code)
- Optionally, give it a name, or a group.
- Click the Update button. <– don’t miss this, each row needs this done, you can’t “batch” them up and do them all at once.
And that should be the end of the core install.
But read on for a few things to optionally configure, some may be very useful to you!
There are a variety of semi-optional but *very* useful additional configurations to make.
- Sites – Add IP address ranges to identify sites, see cross-site call volume, and to optionally enable mapping to work for your own infrastructure.
- Groups – Track calls by ‘groups’ of people – ‘groups’ being whatever you’d like to define as a mapping of groups, subgroups, and names to extensions. Use it to report on your sales team, help desk or to build your own mini call center.
- Custom device types – We supply a lot of device types, but maybe you need some special ones. If so, this is the place for you!
